Tips to Awakening Your Inner Psychic….Part I

This morning, I focused on tuning into my life purpose and strengthening my psychic abilities today. I began by doing my usual hour of yoga (hour and a half today, actually). Then I killed the weeds in my garden, went for a vigorous walk, sent healing energy to a few people, swept my floors, and folded laundry.
You might wonder how any of this is related to getting in tune with my life purpose or developing my psychic abilities. In fact, you might even be saying, “Cynthia, what in the world does sweeping your floors, folding laundry, or taking a walk have to do with strengthening your psychic abilities?” Sure, the yoga (and the sending healing energy) you can probably understand, but killing weeds? How does that even remotely relate to developing my psychic abilities?
Well, it works like this….When my floors are clean, when my garden is tended to, when I have clean laundry, and when my body is well taken care of, then my spiritual psychic abilities flow easily & naturally. In other words, when my physical, “mundane” energies are flowing harmoniously, so are my psychic energies.
It’s just easier to channel, go into a trance, or attune spiritually when the energy in my “material” world life is flowing smoothly & harmoniously. On the other hand, when I am annoyed because my floors are covered in bird food and my garden is overrun by weeds, or when my body is feeling stiff or out-of-shape, then my overall energy becomes blocked & stale. Then it becomes much more difficult for me to fully access my psychic abilities or attune with the Divine energy inside of me.
This is why whenever people write me asking what they can do to strengthen their spiritual awareness or develop their psychic ability, usually the first thing I tell them to do is to start by getting grounded. In other words, I recommend that you start by conditioning your mind & body to be strong enough to receive the psychic energy that comes through when you do deep level psychic work.
In particular, I offer the following “top 3 tips” if you are serious about deepening your spiritual connection or awakening your inner psychic….
Meditate Daily, preferably for 15 minutes or more
Develop a daily exercise routine, especially one that involves yoga, walking, tai-chi, swimming, stretching, or any other kind of gentle exercise that both challenges & relaxes you
Eat a diet that supports your nutritional needs, particularly one that has ample fresh fruits & vegetables, as these contain & retain light-force energy
I might also add that adequate sleep is very important for spiritual psychic development, especially when you are first beginning to open up.
Other “getting grounded” steps I recommend for you if you want to deepen your spiritual connection & increase your psychic awareness: Get your house in order (literally). Create a peaceful & harmonious living space for yourself. Practice radical honesty in ALL your relationships. Begin to create financial stability for yourself & your family. If you do not already have one, get a job.
Are these the only tips I offer when I help people develop their gifts? Of course not. When I work with my students (both one-on-one & in classes), there are many, many other steps we explore to stimulate & awaken the psychic abilities, including working with dreams, learning how to read “signs” in your day-to-day life, psychic purification, using scents, colors, and stones to stimulate clairvoyance, and much more.
I usually start with the tips about diet, meditation, and exercise first, because these are the practices that prepare your body & mind to receive and channel the deep level of energy that comes through in psychic work. The nervous system must be strengthened & prepared in order to come into contact with the larger forces that we work with in our spiritual psychic work (or shall we say, the forces that work with us.).
I have watched many people literally go off the deep end or burn themselves out psychically simply because they neglected to support their psychic development work with adequate rest, meditation, exercise, and nutrition. This doesn’t have to happen to you. You can get off on the “right foot” with your spiritual psychic development by remembering to nurture your physical & mental needs.
