How to Tell If You Are Getting a “Real” Psychic Message- Part II

1. How do I tell if something I see (or sense) in my mind is coming from my inner psychic or if it is just my imagination?
The imagination is one of the main tools that the intuition and inner psychic use to communicate. Many people find themselves having images or daydreams in their mind that later end up coming true. Of course, just because you see a picture of something in your mind or experience a day dream doesn’t automatically mean that you are having a psychic experience. However it doesn’t automatically mean you’re *not* either. If you find yourself daydreaming or imagining something, and you think it might be a psychic impulse for you, ask yourself:
If what you are seeing or sensing validates your own expectations too closely, it could be that you are just hearing from your ego. On the other hand, just because an intuition validates what you want or expect does not automatically make it “wrong”. If you’re not sure whether what you are “imagining” is a message from your inner psychic or your ego, you can always ask your inner psychic to give you the message again in another way that will be more clear to you. Which brings us to the second question you can ask yourself whenever your inner psychic appears to be speaking in concert with your imagination, which is, “Do you notice this message coming to you in other forms?”
For example, if you find yourself imagining that you are going to move to a certain city, you might not be sure if this “imagining” is coming from your higher self or is just wishful thinking. But let’s say that the next week, you unexpectedly receive a travel brochure in the mail about that city. A couple days later, you get a call from an old friend who has just moved to the city in question. By now you can be sure that there is a legitimate message here for you. Who knows? It may not be that you are supposed to actually “move” to that city, but certainly your inner psychic is trying to tell you something about your connection with this city, and it is worth taking seriously and exploring further.
2. I had an intuition to do something that seemed so right for me. I followed it, but then things didn’t turn out the way I planned. What went wrong?
First of all, recognize that nothing may have gone “wrong”. Just because things turned out differently then you expected does not mean that your original intuition was “wrong”, “bad”, or even “incorrect”. It *may* mean that you did not understand your original intuition correctly, or that you did not understand it completely. Many times people make HUGE assumptions from a small psychic message, and then they act without getting the additional information that they need.
When you get a psychic impulse, especially one that encourages action on your part, it is usually a good idea to get further clarification and ask more questions.
For example, if you are suddenly struck with the idea that it would be good for you to move to a different city, you might want to ask:
What does “good” mean in this sense? In other words, what specific benefits could you expect to receive as a result of moving to this city?
Is there another (more convenient, perhaps) action that you could take that would ensure you the same benefits?
If you do indeed move to a different city, is this something that would be easier to accomplish at a different date, or is it something that should be done now for best results?
I know this seems like a lot of “asking” and clarification for just one little message. However, I do think it’s important to get clear on what you are actually receiving, before you take actions that could have significant impact on your life. It’s also important to recognize that no matter how prepared you think you are, no matter how well you think you understand the meaning of your intuition, things are still bound to turn out at least slightly differently than what you envisioned.
3. I had a very strong psychic impulse that ____________ was going to happen, but it didn’t. Why?
Predicting the future is a very delicate art. There is no one single “set” future. Instead, there are many probable futures that lay side by side on the multi-dimensional time line. Sometimes things happen the way we predict, sometimes they don’t. If they don’t, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you didn’t receive a legitimate psychic message about the future. It just means that something in the Universe changed between the time you made the prediction and the time that event was supposed to occur.
Know too that just because something has not *yet* happened, does not mean it will not happen. For example, if you sensed that you were going to be married in 6 months, but then 6 months came and went and you hadn’t even met any one special yet, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you will never be married. (For that matter, it doesn’t even mean that on some dimension of reality, you aren’t *already* married). It might just mean that things are happening a bit slower than you originally expected (at least, in this dimension of reality).
