Bright Lights & the Principle of Non-Interference….Trusting In Spirit

by Cynthia Killion

I was driving down the highway in the country last Saturday night at about 1 o'clock in the morning. I hit a particularly dark area where there were no streetlights, and then as I went further, I hit a deep fog. I couldn't even see the white line in the middle of the highway.

I was starting to get distressed, so I prayed to my angels for help. It was then that I noticed the reflective yellow line at the side of the road.  If I could just follow this thin little line, I'd be OK until I could see again. Still, I wanted to be able to see the yellow line a little bit better, so I threw on my brights.

Throwing on your brights in a fog is a bad idea. You see, fog is like a mirror, and when you shine a bright light onto a mirror, it goes everywhere.

I was instantly blinded. I mean, I couldn't see one foot in front of me now. For a moment I thought I was going to crash because I wasn't sure if the road was going straight or curving. But then a little voice in my head said, "turn off your bright lights, silly!" And I did.

I followed the little, thin yellow line to higher visibility, and made it home safely.

What I can't stop thinking about is how that situation in the fog represents so many other situations in my life—times of "low visibility" when the Universe was giving me a yellow line" to follow, but I just kept wanting to shine my "brights" or do some other dumb, humanly thing that interfered with Divine Guidance. (In fact, I think I may be in one of those times right now!)

This is just like when we say to ourselves, "Yes God/Goddess, I know you're taking care of it, but I just want to do this one little thing so you can take care of it even better." As if the Principle Power in the Universe needs to be instructed as to how to take care of
things.

I think we all need to adapt a habit of NON-INTERFERENCE. Instead of trying so hard to make our good happen, maybe what we need to do is get out of the way. And stop trying to shine our "brights" when the way is already being revealed to us. I'm not saying that you should just set on your butt & wait for stuff to happen. After all, I was the one driving the car in this story. But most of us need to learn to follow the direction we are given more closely, instead of trying to cast out on a path of our own making.

Have YOU been shining YOUR bright lights in the fog recently? If so, know that what you need to do to get through the fog is to turn back to the Light of the Universe. It will lead you to where you are going next, even if you only have a thin little yellow line to go by.

I love you, and the Universe loves you.
