| Keeping Up With The Board- President Karen Lyons | |
Dear Friends,
The September meeting of the Board of Trustees will follow lunch at the conclusion of Kevin's workshop. I realize we are cramming a lot into the holiday weekend, but, after all it is Labor Day. This Board meeting is too important to all of us to postpone.
Even as fund raising continues to Build the Bath House, the Board is ready with the funds available to go forward with this project. I hope everyone who can will join the Board of Trustees for the making of some important decisions that will impact the Church and Camp for many years to come. This is a neccesary step in maintaining our facilities and ensuring trouble free service from our bath facilities. The Board will discover the answers to the burning questions of where, when, and how much.
There is so much I want to say to you. First, thank you. All of the presenters of Workshops have made huge contributions in time and other resources to support this project. All of the participants in Workshops have given generously in anticipation of improvements to our physical plant. The Maintenance Comittee has spent many hours meeting with contractors, measuring various locations, and leaning on shovels meditating about the best direction to take the project. Ron Glasgow, who did the research on ADA regulations, who drew the plans, who shops for the best prices on accessories, who spends his own money, and donates to the Bath House Fund, and on, and on, and on. Rev. Charles Cox who enhanced our web site and made it a secure and simple method for making donations to the Church and the Bath House fund. Rev. Cox is among the presenters who not only traveled and donated their time, talent, and gifts, they also made generous contributions to the Bath House fund. (Any presenter who is offended that I revealed your personal business, please forgive me and accept a pat on the back anyway. I'm sure you will have other occasions to be upset with me. You can get even then.) The Board of Trustees who were confronted with a need, met the challenge, and are ready to take action.
I am proud of you all and thankful for your support of this project. Please continue with that support a while longer. As my daddy used to say, "we're within shoutin distance".
Now. See you this weekend. Let's have a good time.

| Weekly Psychic Development Circle |
Due to busy schedules of participants as well as the Fall line-up of events at Sunset Church, Rev. Evadne Tuxhorn's weekly Development Circle will take a short break and begin again later this Fall. Please contact Rev. Tuxhorn (785-826-1633) if you have an interest in evening or weekend classes in Sacred Geometry, Beginning Psychic Development, and other courses of study that she offers. |
| September 18- Spiritual Psychic Development Class with Cynthia Killion |
The next "Spiritual Psychic Development" class is September 18 at Sunset Church. Please contact Cynthia Killion to register for this class at cynthia@cynthiakillion.com or 316-652-8970. Cynthia's fee for each class is $20.00. Sunset Church gratefully accepts any love offerings or donations toward the expenses of meals, cabins, and just plain old air conditioning and electricity. The dates for the rest of this unit are October 16, and November 20. These classes are approaching a more advanced study so if you have been thinking of joining us it is important that you do so now! |
| Upcoming Events- Please Join Us |
We are making preparations for informative, inspirational, and fun Fall Workshops! These workshops will be held on the first weekend of the months of September, October, and November. The basic format for each weekend will be a light supper served on Friday evening as you arrive, workshop classes Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., a Circle or other event Saturday evening, and church services on Sunday morning. All meals on the workshop weekends are provided by Sunset Church, so no need to bring along potluck dishes. These weekends are being planned as part of our "Build The Bathhouse" fund-raising efforts, with proceeds going to that fund. The workshops, Circles, meals and cabins will be offered on a free-will donation basis. Many thanks to the presenters that have agreed to serve Sunset Church and Camp in this way!!
Please note: We WILL be reserving cabins for the workshop weekends, so please contact Linda if you wish to reserve one (620-727-4329 or lindaanderson4825@sbcglobal.net ) It would also be helpful in meal planning if you will let Linda know if you're planning to attend, even if you do not require a cabin.
SEPTEMBER 4 - 5
"Playing in the Light: Working With the Seven Cosmic Seals"
Presenter: Kevin Phillips
Kevin Phillips, beloved teacher and member of Sunset Church, continues his ministry of love with us in providing a system that enables one to work with and hold Cosmic Light, the Light of Original Creation. Those of us who have studied with Kevin over the past several years as he has taught workshops, classes at Camp, Sunday morning classes, and conducted Sunday morning church services have come to appreciate the great knowledge and inspiration he so generously shares. Kevin agreed to teach this workshop on Labor Day weekend so that those at a distance might benefit from the Monday holiday to facilitate their travel.
Schedule: Friday evening bonfire and roasting hot dogs beginning at 6:00 p.m. (join us whatever time you arrive - we'll keep the fire going!). A development circle will be held later that evening, whenever we decide we've had enough hot dogs, s'mores, and bonfire.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. Breakfast
9:30 - 5:00 Workshop (we'll have goodies for your breaks throughout the day, lunch at noon)
5:30 p.m. Supper
7:30 p.m. Circle

10:00 a.m. Class

OCTOBER 2 - 3
"Signs: Recognizing, Interpreting and Application"
Presenter: Traci Bray
As a young child, Medium Traci Bray's parents would point out 'shapes' in things from pancakes as the batter formed shapes in the pan, to discovering defined silhouettes in clouds. Through the years she noted that when pondering a question answers appeared in places from nature, to readily-available in her mind's eye. Listen to Traci describe how information was provided to her using all of her senses, and how she learned to use and interpret the messages from Spirit. Traci will provide an eye-opening, exploratory experience into clues and answers readily available to the questions we seek. Weather-pending, be prepared to be both in and outdoors! Plus, Traci will also be available for private readings, and will preside with Spirit in a Saturday evening circle. To schedule a private reading with Traci call 913.940.0754, or email traci@tracibray.com To reserve a spot at the workshop and/or in Circle, please contact Linda Anderson (620-727-4329 or lindaanderson4825@sbcglobal.net).
NOVEMBER 6 - 7
Presenters: Karen Lyons, Gayl Edmunds
Karen and Gayl have agreed to team up and provide us with a provocative look at Spiritualism and the Native American beliefs and culture, how they are similar, how they are different, and what each teaches us. We will, of course, be drumming on Saturday evening with Gayl and the Wichita singers! More information will be coming in future Newsletters. |
| Build A New Bath House Campaign | |
We are Well Over Half Way There!
Every little bit helps toward the building fund. If everyone on our mailing list donated just $10 a month, that's the price of a single movie ticket or two lattes, in less than 10 months we would raise the money we need to bring the bathroom fascilities into the 21st Century..
Can you find at least $10 a month to help us reach our goal?

| Looking Ahead- Egypt is Calling |
March 12 - 23, 2011 are the dates we will be traveling to Egypt for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit sacred sites with like-minded friends and experience the wonders and life-changing awakenings this ancient land holds for us. Kevin Phillips has traveled to Egypt on two previous occasions and is arranging this trip for us. We have been making tentative plans for the past year, but now it's time to get serious, mark our calendars, and get on board! If there are 10-15 of us who go on this trip the price per person is approximately $4,499. The price goes down to $4,099 if there are 16-20, and goes down further if there are 30 or more (all based on double-occupancy so bring a friend!). These prices do include air fair from the United States to Egypt, all accommodations, and many meals. There is wonderful information at the website: Click Here. In fact, just go to the website to check it out for fun - the photographs will inspire you to want to make this trip! Kevin tells us that the Egyptian government will be closing down these sites in the next couple of years due to the deterioration caused just by the moisture from the breathing of so many people over the years inside of these ancient structures. So if you've ever dreamed of visiting Egypt, or feel the call to do so now, this is your opportunity! If you have questions or are interested in joining us on this trip, please contact Linda (620-727-4329, or lindaanderson4825@sbcglobal.net) so she can put you in touch with Kevin. |
